PSE index, peso end lower

The main Philippine stock index and the peso closed lower on Thursday.
The peso closed at P50.82 against the US dollar from P50.73 on Wednesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.464 billion from $1.553 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended at 7,933.71 points, down 13.76 points. In the broader pictures, there were 107 losers, 78 gainers and 55 unchanged.
Volume reached 655.29 million worth P4.18 billion from Wednesday's 1.17 billion shares valued at P4.63 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., down P6.00 to P818; Jollibee Food Corp., down P10.60 to P 202.60 and SM Investment Corp., up P11 to P1.070. DMS
