PSE index, peso end second quarter higher

The main share index ended higher on Friday, the final trading day of the second quarter.
The peso closed P 52.16 against the US dollar from P 52.19 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $988.32 million from the previous day's $892.15 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7,970.02 points, up 133.74. In the broader market, there were 105 gainers, 72 decliners while 52 were unchanged.
Volume reached 669.51 million shares worth P8.49 billion from Thursday's 694.77 million shares valued at P6.57 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up P1.30 to P49.50; BDO, up P1.30 to P138; Ayala Corp., up P10 to P919 and PLDT, up P 70 to P1,350. DMS
