PSE index, peso finish lower

The main Philippine share index ended lower for the second day on Wednesday.
The peso ended four centavos lower against the US dollar from Tuesday to P51.13. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines ( BAP) reached $1.207 billion from the previous day's $1.045 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 8,233.48 points, down 30.09 points. In the broader market, there were 89 losers, 85 gainers while 67 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 903.06 million shares valued at P5,31 billion from Tuesday's 1.21 billion shares worth P10.49 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 40 centavos to P52.20; BPI, down 10 centavos to P89.90 and Ayala Corp., up P6.00 to P948. DMS
