PSE index, peso finish week higher

The main Philippine share index remained at the 8,000-point level while the peso gained against the US dollar on Friday.
The peso closed at P51.57 from Thursday's P51.645. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines fetched $1.169 billion from $829.16 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index finished at 8,055.47 points, up 33.05 points. In the broader market, there were 109 winners, 86 losers while 49 shares were unchanged,.
Volume reached 752.29 million shares worth P9.36 billion from Thursday's 1.33 billion shares valued at P7.3 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, down five centavos to P38.30; Ayala Land, up 20 centavos to P50.75; ICTSI, up 30 centavos to P144.30 and Ayala Corp., down two pesos to P898. DMS
