PSE index, peso gain

The main Philippine stock index and the peso ended higher on Thursday.
The peso closed at P51.27 against the US dollar from P51.50. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $876.87 million from $942.71 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 8,057.64 points, up 44.04 points. In the broader market, there were 115 gainers, 86 losers and 48 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.07 billion shares worth P8.4 billion from Wednesday's 2.25 billion shares valued at P8.13 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 10 centavos to P37.90; Ayala Land, down 40 centavos to P50.60; Ayala Corp., unchanged at P896 and BDO, up 50 centavos to P142.50. DMS
