PSE index, peso gain

The main Philippine share index and the peso closed higher on Friday.
The peso gained 13 centavos as it settled at P52.05 against the US dollar. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $989.53 million from $1.147 billion on the previous session.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index finished at 7,979,66. In the broader market, there were 126 gainers, 72 losers and 35 unchanged.
Volume reached 1,31 billion shares worth P9.74 billion from Thursday's 6.58 billion shares valued at P8.44 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 40 centavos to P47.30; SM Prime, up 30 centavos to P35.30; SM Investment Corp., up P6.00 to P1,026. DMS
