PSE index, peso up

The Philippine share index and the peso ended higher on Thursday.
The peso closed at P52.165 against the US dollar, up from Wednesday's P52.24. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.31 billion from $1.48 billion on the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index settled at 7,881.79 points, up 60.45. In the broader market, there were 115 gainers, 84 decliners while 47 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 2,12 billion shares worth P5.84 billion from Wednesday's 1.53 billion shares valued at P6 billion.
Most active shares were led by San Miguel Food and Beverage, up 2.04 percent to P105; Ayala Land, down 1.92 percent to P43.40 and JG Summit, up 1.5 percent to P67.80. DMS
