PSE index, peso vs US dollar end lower

The main Philippine stock index and the peso ended lower on Wednesday.
The peso closed at P50.82 against the US dollar from P50.73. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.464 billion from $1.553 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 7,947.47, down 64.87 points. In the broader market, there were 105 losers, 73 gainers and 59 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.17 billion shares worth P4.6 billion from Tuesday's 489.23 million shares valued at P4.73 billion,
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., down P16 to P824; Ayala Land, up 45 centavos to P46.95 and SM Prime, down 75 centavos to P39.15. DMS
