PSE index retreats from four-month high

The main Philippine share index closed lower Wednesday after surging to its highest since July.
The peso ended at P50.61 against the US from P50.41 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.112 billion from the previous session's $1.118 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index settled at 8, 025.28 points, down 190.80. In the broader market, there were 109 losers, 74 gainers and 49 unchanged.
Volume went down to 595.80 million worth P5.9 billion from Tuesday's 651.15 million valued at P9.55 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down P2.00 to P47; Bloomberry Resorts, up 22 centavos to P10.82 and Ayala Corp., down P15 to P862. DMS
