PSE index shrugs off eight-year low 2019 growth data

The main Philippne share index shrugged off the eight-year low growth figures for 2019 to end higher on Thursday.
But the peso ended at P50.80 against the US dollar from P50.91 on Wednesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $981.95 million to $1.093 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index ended at 7.616.35 points, up 147.62. In the broader market, tbere were 117 gainers, 73 losers and 50 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 669.94 million shares worth P6.6 billion from Wednesday's 755.73 million shares valued at P7.1 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up P1.40 to P40.80; SM Prime, up 50 centavos to P40.70 and PLDT up P18 to P1,055. DMS
