PSE index snaps losing streak

The main Philippine share index closed higher on Tuesday, ending a six-day losing streak.
The peso settled at P50.765 against the US dollar from P50.80 on Monday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $953.9 million from the previous session's $1.073 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 7, 226.90, up 89.87. In the broader market, there were 113 gainers, 73 losers and 48 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.48 billion shares valued at P9.6 billion from Monday's 833.35 million shares worth P5.9 billion.
Most traded shares were led by SM Investment Corp., up P9 to P 983.50; SM Prime, unchanged at P38.90; Metrobank, up 60 centavos to P56.65 and Ayala Land, unchanged at P40.95. DMS
