PSE index snaps three-day rally to end lower

After a three-day rally, the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed lower at 134.967 points to 5,266.62 on Friday.
As of 10 am, the index rose 227.21 points as it looked to follow on Thursday's big one-day gain.After one hour, the index slowly lost ground and ended in minus territory.
The peso settled at P51 against the US dollar from P51.07 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $456.2 million from $420.1 million on the previous day.
But in the broader market, there were 101 gainers, 90 losers and 36 unchanged.
Volume reached 696.58 million shares worth P7.95 billion from Thursday's 590.86 million valued at P7.67 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., up P11 to P493; Ayala Land, down P1.30 to P31; SM Investment Corp., down P40 to P805 and BPI, up P3.45 to P63.95. DMS
