PSE index, towed by MerryMart, ends higher

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) rose on Monday, led by MerryMart.
The peso closed to P50.14 against the US dollar from P50.06 on Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal reached $456.96 million from Friday's $809.02 million.
The PSE index gained 32.36 points to 6,347.43. In the broader market, there were 113 losers, 87 gainers and 47 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.21 billion shares worth P7.33 billion from Friday's 1.58 billion shares valued at P13.41 billion.
Most active shares were led by MerryMart, up 65 centavos to P3.60; Dito CME Holdings Corp., up 49 centavos to P3.73, Emperador, down 94 centavos to P8 and BDO, down P1.00 to P99. DMS
