PSE index turns around to end higher

The main Philippine stock index overcame an early downturn to end higher while the peso ended flat on Friday.
The peso finished at P52.27 against the US dollar from P52.255 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.208 billion from $1.266 billion in the previous session.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7,889.41 points, up 40.58 points. In the broader market, there were 133 losers, 69 gainers and 34 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.08 billion shares worth P8.16 billion from Thursday's 2.1 billion shares valued at P9.92 billion.
Most active shares were led by Kepwealth Property, up P 2.48 to P20.80; Phinma Petroleum, up P1.15 to P10.30; and Ayala Land, down 70 centavos to P48.45. DMS
