PSE index up for second straight day

The main Philippine stock index ended higher for the second straight day while the peso gained on Thursday.
The peso rose to P52.18 from Wednesday's P52.321. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.147 billion from the previous day's $1.107 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 7,892.81 points, up 45.31 points. In the broader market, there were 109 gainers, 87 losers and 47 unchanged.
Volume reached 6.58 billion shares worth P8.44 billion from Wednesday's 1.38 billion shares valued at P8.36 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down five centavos to P47; ICTSI, unchanged at P130; SM Prime, five centavos down to P35 and URC, up 20 centavos to P172. DMS
