PSEi up for third day; peso at P48.585:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose for the third straight day on Wednesday as it gained 165.88 points to close at 6,278.59.
In the broader market, there were 163 gainers, 49 losers and 39 unchanged.
Volume reached 2 billion shares worth P10.5 billion from Tuesday's 2.24 billion shares valued at P8.22 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up P1.15 to P32.53; GT Capital, up P8.60 to P442.60; BDO, up P3.15 to P93.95 and Jollibee, up P1 to P170.
The Philippine peso finished at P48.585 against the US dollar from Tuesday's P48.62. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $710.7 million from $869.33 million. DMS
