QC Regional Trial Court sentences some Ampatuan family members, others to 57 counts of murder without parole over 2009 Maguindanao Massacre

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court on Thursday handed down 57 counts of murder without parole to some members of the Ampatuan family and other accused in the 2009 Maguindanao Massacre.
Reading the dispositive portion of the 761-page consolidated partial decision, clerk of court Aissa Sto. Domingo said Datu Andal Unsay Ampatuan Jr., Zaldy Ampatuan, Anwar Ampatuan Sr and others were guilty of 57 counts of murder, sentenced to reclusion perpetua.
Ffity-eight persons were killed in Maguindanao on 2009 as they accompanied the wife of then Buluan Vice Mayor Esmael Magundadatu, who was going to file her husband's certificate of candidacy as governor. DMS
