Quezon City cop shot dead in Commonwealth Avenue

A police officer was shot dead by two unidentified persons in his car in Quezon City Friday afternoon.
Inspector Romeo Tandas, 49, assigned at the District Tactical Operations Center of Quezon City Police District (QCPD), was killed along Commonwealth Avenue corner University Lane in Barangay UP Campus at around 5 pm.
Police said they received a call around 7pm regarding a shooting incident.
Investigation showed Tandas and his common-law wife Marissa Opiniado were on their way home traversing east on a Toyota Avanza when two unidentified male suspects riding a black motorcycle appeared.
The suspects shot Tandas several times while his partner was not injured. The suspects escaped.
Tandas was rushed to Diliman Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Examination revealed he sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
