Quezon provincial police investigating alleged Tayabas shootout

The police director of Quezon province on Monday ordered the administrative relief of the Tayabas City police and officers involved in an alleged shootout where one of the fatalities was the son of Sariaya Mayor Marcelo Gayeta.
In a statement, Senior Superintendent Osmundo De Guzman ordered the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Branch to investigate the reported shootout between policemen and two armed persons on motorcycles.
He ordered the relief to have an impartial investigation of the shooting incident on March 14.
A gasoline boy in Barangay Quezon reported two motorcycle-riding gunmen shot him twice but he was not hurt.
Based on the Tayabas police's report, their officers responded and a shootout followed where the suspects died.
