Ressa, Rappler boss, freed on bail by Manila court

Maria Ressa, chief executive officer and founder of online news website Rappler, was freed on bail after before a Manila court Thursday after she was detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) overnight for cyberlibel.
Ressa, who was arrested Wednesday by the NBI at Rappler's office in Pasig, paid P100,000.
Ressa's lawyer tried to seek bail from a Pasay city night court on Wednesday but this was refused. DMS
