January 16, 2019
Vice President Leni Robredo’s net satisfaction rating dropped seven percentage points in the fourth quarter of 2018, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
In a poll released on Tuesday, Robredo’s net satisfaction rating fell to +27 from + 34 last September 2018.
SWS said her rating fell from “good” to “moderate”.
“The 7-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of Vice Pres. Robredo was due to decreases of 15 points in Balance Luzon, 7 points in Metro Manila, and 3 points in Mindanao, combined with a 9-point increase in the Visayas,” SWS said.
Robredo’s rating stayed “good” in Visayas and Mindanao, up by nine points in Visayas at +48 while down by three points in Mindanao at +31 in December.
Compared to September 2018, SWS said Robredo’s net satisfaction rating declined in all socio-demographics except among 18-24 year olds.
House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s rating is down by 17 percentage points at 21 but Senate President Vicente Sotto III rating stayed at very good +61 in December.
“The 6-point rise in the overall net satisfaction rating of Senate Pres. Sotto was due to increases of 15 points in Metro Manila (+67), 14 points in Mindanao (+55), and 11 points in the Visayas (+60), combined with a 2-point decline in Balance Luzon (+63),” SWS said.
“The 17-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of Speaker Macapagal Arroyo was due to decreases in all areas, especially in the Visayas (-15),” it explained.
Across socio-demographics, Sotto’s net satisfaction rating increased or remained steady from September to December while Arroyo fell in all socio-demographics, except among class ABC.
The new Supreme Court chief Justice Lucas Bersamin's net satisfaction rating was a moderate +11.
SWS said it was highest in Balance Luzon at +17 followed by +12 in Visayas, neutral in Metro Manila and Mindanao at +9 and +3 respectively.
By class, Bersamin’s net satisfaction rating was highest in class ABC at good +39 and tend to be higher among those with more years of formal schooling at moderate +15.
The survey was conducted from December 16-19, 2018 using face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults nationwide with sampling error margins of ±2.6% for national percentages, and ±5% each for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao. Ella Dionisio/DMS
