March 9, 2020
The Senate suspended its plenary session on Monday and will resume on Wednesday.
Senate President Tito Sotto approved the suspension. Sessions will resume at 1 pm, March 11 as hearings at the Commission on Appointments are set.
Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri said suspending the sessions for a day''will help in the avoidance of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019).''
But two committtee hearings will be held on Tuesday.
These are a review on the Bangsamoro Law, chaired by Senator Francis Tolentino, and on Chinese firms' stake in the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines, chaired by Senator Sherwin Gatchalian. DMS
