Seven cannabis plantations raided in Benguet town

LA TRINIDAD-- At least seven plantations of cannabis were raided on Thursday in Kibungan town, a known hotbed of marijuana plantations in Benguet.
Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Rwin Pagkalinawan led the operation where they burned at least 1,500 marijuana plants worth P300,000 at the first site in sitio Lopting, Tacadang Thursday.
Col. Elmer Ragay, Benguet provincial police director, said plantation raids on seven sites totaled P762,000 worth of cannabis.
Kibungan, especially interior locations along its boundaries with La Union and Ilocos Sur, is known as the "Golden Triangle" of marijuana production. DMS
