Seven nabbed for selling allegedly overpriced face masks in Cavite

A Filipino-Chinese and a Malaysian together with five others were arrested for allegedly selling overpriced face masks in Carmona, Cavite on Tuesday.
Lai Geou Tee, 28, a Malaysian and Filipino-Chinese Hasan Meahar Asana, 43, were arrested by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) during an entrapment operation in front of a
shopping mall in Barangay Maduya at around 9:30 p.m.
Maj. Gen. Joel Napoloen Coronel, CIDG director, said the other suspects as Ma. Anelia Delos Reyes, 60, Micah Salvador 27, Vanessa Zolayvar, 35, Dennis Realon, 29, and Bienvenido Alvarez, 52, an ambulance driver.
Coronel said they received a tip the suspects are selling overpriced and expired face masks through Facebook at P300 each, way above the standard retail price of P28 per piece
The suspects yielded 931 plastic packs of face masks worth P1.3 million. Police confiscated a Hyundai H-100 utility van with ambulance markings. DMS
