Sison ”hallucinating again” about coup vs Duterte: AFP
February 19, 2020
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said Communist Party of the Philippines (CCP) founding chairman Jose Maria Sison is "hallucinating again" when he reportedly claimed about a possible coup d'etat against President Rodrigo Duterte.
"Sison is hallucinating again. He mistook the AFP for his ragtag terrorist army-the NPA- where his orders are violated and his stand unsupported," said Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, AFP spokesman, on Wednesday.
After the Philippine government formally sent its notice to the United States about its intent to terminate the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), Sison claimed there are pro-American Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) officials who are talking about a possible coup d'etat against Duterte.
Arevalo said the statements of Sison should just be ignored.
"You should just ignore those kind of statement from Sison. You are just giving him and his statements undeserved credence. His lines are already expected. It should just be ignored," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
