Six Vietnamese females were rescued while two Chinese suspects were arrested Wednesday night for reported prostitution  in Makati City.

Police Major General Guillermo Eleazar, National Capital Region director,  identified the suspects as Kuang Meiting and Li Xuemei.

An initia report said the NCRPO's Regional Special Operations Unit with Women and Children Protection Division- Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division, and Makati Police Station conducted an anti-trafficking entrapment and rescue operations at Avida Asten Tower 2, Malugay Street in Barangay San Antonio around 10 pm.

The operation stemmed after an informant disclosed foreigners were involved in prostitution. Information through surveillance, monitoring and lateral coordination validated this.

Case records showed the suspects conduct operation through internet applications where clients are being lured to avail of sexual services.

Based on their promotions, there are Vietnamese, Chinese and Malaysian ladies being trafficked.

It was also revealed there was a "show-up room" in the condominium where clients can choose the ladies. They also have an option to use three other available rooms in the condominium or bring the ladies somewhere.

Eleazar said the victims are using tourist visas.

"With the increase of foreigners, we should check them so that we can prevent this crime especially if involving the victimization of women, not necessarily Filipina but also foreigners that are brought here to become sex slaves," he said.

He said the rescued victims will be turned over to the social workers of Makati Police Station or to the Local Government Unit.

"Our coordinators will be coordinating with Vietnamese Embassy so that they can return to their country," he added.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to RSOU office for documentation and proper disposition.

They will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended by RA 10364 also known as the Expanded Anti-Trafficking Act of 2012. Ella Dionisio/DMS
