South Korean Coast Guard ship arrive for goodwill visit

The South Korea Coast Guard (KCG) training ship 3011 Badaro arrived for a goodwill visit in Manila on Monday.
Capt. Armand Balilo, PCG spokesman, said the goodwill visit of the KCG will last until Oct. 18.
"This visit will be headed by the president of KCG Academy, Senior Superintendent General Ko Myung Suk, along with 130 cadets and trainees of Training Ship Badaro," he said.
"The ship visit aims to strengthen relationship and cooperation between Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Korea Coast Guard (KCG)," he added.
Balilo said the "friendly visit aims to nurture the bilateral relationship and partnership between the PCG and KCG."
"This is also in line with the commemoration this year of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Republic of Korea, thus, intends to promote mutual exchange and support to further the longstanding ties between the two countries and the two Coast Guards," he said.
Balilo said it is the second visit made by the KCG ship in the country, the first visit was just made last year. Robina Asido/DMS
