St. Luke’s Medical Center will offer affordable world-class medical expertise and services to Army personnel and their dependents.
Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala, Philippine Army spokesman, said St. Luke’s Medical Center forge a partnership with the Army during a courtesy call at the Philippine Army headquarters in Fort Bonifacio on Wednesday.
"Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto welcomed the initiative of St. Luke’s through its president and chief executive officer, Arturo De La Peña to extend affordable eye care and other medical services to the Army," he said.
Zagala said, according to De La Peña, “a world-class Army deserves world-class health expertise."
"He also recognized the role of soldiers in providing security and the importance of good health in performing their duty," said Zagala.
"He recalled that during the Marawi Crisis some soldiers relied on their services to treat severe injuries they suffered in the field," he added.
Zagala said Alberto stressed the importance of the partnership for soldiers and their dependents.
"The partnership will complement the special medical needs of our soldiers," he said.
"This also supports our advocacy to promote good health and fitness among our soldiers and families”, he added. Robina Asido/DMS
