Stock index down, peso hits P51.64:$1

The main Philippine share index declined but the peso gained against the US dollar on Monday.
The peso finished at P51.64 from Friday's P51.765. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $581 million from $998.4 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,789,98 points, down 92.84 points. In the broader market, there were 107 decliners, 87 gainers and 47 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.18 billion shares worth P 7.87 billion from Friday's 595.78 million valued at P7.03 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Land, up 0.43 percent to P46,80, San Miguel Food and Beverage, up 0.63 percent to P112.70 and Jollibee, unchanged at P310. DMS
