Stock index ends flat but still above 8,000 points

Stocks gave up all its early gains as the key index ended flat on Monday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index ended at 8,053.92 points, up 0.72 points. In the broader market, there were 108 decliners, 102 gainers and 44 shares unchanged,
Volume reached 1.68 billion shares worth P9.13 billion from Friday's 1.35 billion shares valued at P1.35 billion valued at P7.9 billion.
Most active shares were led by Premiere Horizon Alliance, up 29.52 percent to P1.36; Ayala Land, down 0.90 percent to P44.20 and Ayala Corp., up 0.63 percent to P927.
The peso ended at P52.57 against the US dollar from P52.535. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $886.07 million from $1.015 billion.DMS
