Stock index up slightly, peso unchanged at P51.765:$1

Philippine stocks closed higher and the peso finished unchanged at P 51.765 against the US dollar on Wednesday, the last trading day as financial markets will be closed for Holy Week.
Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $994.38 million from $810.45 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index ended at 7,835.15 points, up 8.69 points. In the broader market, there were 110 gainers, 73 decliners while 45 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 694.4 million shares worth P5.45 billion from Tuesday's 1.45 billion shares valued P7.14 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 0.63 percent to P47; ICTSI, up 1.9 percent to P129 and Alliance Global, up 2.18 percent to P14.98. DMS
