Stocks end lower, peso gains vs US dollar

Philippine stocks ended lower on Friday, but week-on-week the main index closed 2.25 percent higher.
The peso finished at P52.16 against the US dollar from P52.50 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $846.86 million from $740 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,747.09 points, down 56.94 points. In the broader market, there were 125 decliners and 73 gainers while 44 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 2.91 billion shares worth P7,42 billion from Thursday's 3.45 billion shares valued at P7.2 billion.
Most active shares were led by Global Ferronickel Holdings, down 1.9 percent to P1.55; D &L Industries, down 1.19 percent to P9,96 and Ayala Corp., up 0.56 percent to P900. DMS
