Stocks higher, peso loses ground vs US dollar

Philippine stocks ended higher while the peso closed at P52.23 against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The peso finished at P52.04 against the US dollar. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.373 billion from Monday's $976.9 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange settled at 7,846.99 points, up 28.06 points. In the broader market, there were 105 decliners, 87 gainers while 51 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 652,1 million shares worth P8.1 billion from Tuesday's 569.37 million shares valued at P 6.6 billion.
Most traded shares reached Ayala Land, up 2.13 percent to P48; Ayala Corp., up 2.2 percent to P884 and ICTSI, down 4.78 percent to P121.40. DMS
