Stocks lower, peso gains

Stocks ended lower on Friday, as trading headed for the Christmas holidays.
The peso closed at P52.86 against the US dollar from P53.1. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $726 million from Thursday's $685.92 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished at 7, 479.71 points, down 83.70 points.In the broader market, there were 123 decliners, 59 decliners and 47 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 724.22 million shares valued at P7.1 billion from Thursday's 875.14 million worth P5.88 billion.
Most active shares were led by BDO, down 0.23 percent to P129; Ayala Land, down 1.78 percent to P41.30 and SM Prime, down 2.51 percent to P35. DMS
