Stocks, peso close higher

Philippine stocks and the peso ended higher on Friday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index settled at 7,920.93, up 44.53 points. In the broader market, there were 112 decliners, 97 gainers while 35 shares were unchanged.
The peso closed at P52.50 against the US dollar from Thursday's P52.75. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $901.77 million from the previous day's $929.72 million.
Volume reached 1.7 billion shares worth P6.7 billion from Thursday's 900.6 million shares valued at P5.09 billion.
Most active shares were led by ICTSI, up 2.51 percent to P130.70; Ayala Land, up 2.05 percent to P44.90 and SM Prime, up 0.88 percent to P39.90. DMS
