Stocks, peso close higher on Friday

Philippine stocks and the peso ended higher on Friday.
The peso closed at P52,10 against the US dollar from P52.18 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $964.52 million from $1.174 billion in the previous session.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished at 7, 873.18 , up 19.05. In the broader market, there were 117 gainers, 81 decliners while 49 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 2.02 billion shares worth P5.04 billion from Thursday's 1.29 billion shares valued at P5.91 billion.
Most active shares were led by Jollibee, up 0.38 percent to P320; Ayala Land, up 1.12 percent to P45 and BDO, up 0.61 percent to P131.60. DMS
