Stocks, peso end higher

Philippine stocks and the peso closed higher on Monday.
The peso settled at P52.11 against the US dollar from Friday's P52.18. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $957.02 million from the previous session's $787.81 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index ended at 7,897.20, up 28.74 points. In the broader market, there were 97 decliners, 89 gainers while 52 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 1.06 billion worth P5.81 billion from Friday's 2.46 billion valued at P5.72 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Land, unchanged at P48.50; GT Capital, up 0.58 percent to P865 and BPI, up 0.30 percent to P83.70. DMS
