Stocks, peso end lower

Philippine stocks and the peso ended lower on Thursday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,854.13 points, down 40.93 points. In the broader market, there were 109 decliners, 67 gainers while 46 shares were unchanged.
The peso settled at P52.18 against the US dollar from P52.08. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.174 billion from $948.95 million.
Volume reached 1.29 billion shares worth P5.91 billion from Wednesday's 1.29 billion shares valued at P4.31 billion,
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 0.22 percent to P44.50; BPI, down 3.57 percent to P81 and Ayala Equity Ventures, up 0.42 percent to P60.25. DMS
