Stocks, peso end lower

Philippine stocks ended lower on Thursday, as the main index remained below 8,000 points.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished at 7,931.30, down 7.94 points. In the broader market, there were 106 gainers, 70 decliners while 56 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 804 million worth P 7 billion from Wednesday's 1.47 billion shares valued at P7.8 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 0.23 percent to P44; ICTSI, unchanged at P119 and Jollibee, down 1.03 percent to P307.20.
The peso declined seven centavos to P52.13 against the US dollar. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.234 billion from $873.34 million. DMS
