Stocks, peso end lower

Stocks and the peso declined on Wednesday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed 45.98 points lower to 7,861.05. In the broader market, there were 139 decliners, 71 gainers while 49 shares were unchanged.
The peso closed at P52.61 against the US dollar, down from Tuesday's P52.445. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $704.2 million from the previous day's $770.05 million.
Volume at the PSE reached 1.2 billion shares worth P5.6 billion from Tuesday's 971.31 million valued at P5.39 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 2.13 percent to P43.55; ICTSI, up 1.2 percent to P127 and SM Investment Corp., unchanged at P945. DMS
