Stocks, peso end slightly higher

Philippine stocks and the peso ended slightly higher on Tuesday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index finished at 7,879.21 points, up 38.90. In the broader market, there were 103 decliners, 91 gainers while 46 shares were unchanged.
The peso closed at P52.44 against the US dollar from Monday's P52.02 billion. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $924.61 million from the previous session's $801.53 million.
PSE volume reached 2.20 billion shares worth P4.8 billion from Monday's 684.7 million valued at P5.5 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 0.11 percent to P44.95; SM Prime, up 0.90 percent to P39.40 and Premiere Horizon Alliance, up 19.78 percent to P1.09. DMS
