Stocks slightly higher, peso declines

Philippine stocks closed slightly higher but the peso lost 14 centavos to end at P52.75 against the US dollar on Thursday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished at 7,876.40 points, up 15.35 points. In the broader market, there were 120 gainers, 78 decliners whike 46 shares were unchanged.
Volume amounted to 900.6 million shares worth P5.09 billion from Wednesday's 1.2 billion shares valued at P5.6 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 1.03 percent to P44; ICTSI, up 0.39 percent and BDO, up 0.45 percent to P132.60. DMS
