Stocks slightly up in slim volume

Philippine stocks rose in slim turnover on Wednesday a day before a policy-setting meeting under new central bank governor Benjamin Diokno.
The peso finished at P52.81 against the US dollar from P52.83. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $870.8 million from Tuesday's $ 1.141 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,858.20 points, up 14.79 points. In the broader market, there were 102 gainers, 78 decliners and 68 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 594.6 million shares worth P5.5 billion from Tuesday's 1.39 billion shares valued at P5.97 billion.
Most traded issues were led by Ayala Land, up 1.04 percent to P 43.70; BDO, up 0.38 percent to P132 and ICTSI, up 0.99 percent to P122. DMS
