Suspected high-ranking communist leader arrested in Laguna

A suspected high-ranking communist official was arrested Tuesday evening in San Pedro City, Laguna.
Police said nabbed was Antonia Setias Dizon, an alleged high ranking leader of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).
Dizon was arrested around 11:50 pm at Villa Olympia Village in Barangay Rosario on an arrest warrant for murder issued by Acting Executive Judge Lou Nueva of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 7 in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.
Authorities also seized from Dizon a caliber 380 pistol loaded with seven ammunition, 48 pieces of caliber 380 live ammunition, ten blasting caps and wirings an other several incendiary devices, two mobile phones, a laptop, and some subversive documents.
According to Laguna Police Director Colonel Eleazar Matta, Dizon works as the secretary of the communist group's national organizing department (NOD), replacing consultants Rafael Baylosis and Adelberto Silva. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
