SWS says 44% of Filipinos happy with way of life
June 4, 2019
The First Quarter 2019 Social Weather Survey, fielded over March 28-31, 2019, found 44 percent of adult Filipinos assessing their life in general as very happy.
The 44 percent is a five-point increase from the 39 percent in December 2018. It had been declining for two consecutive quarters since the record-high 57 percent in December 2017, Social Weather Stations ( SWS) said Tuesday,
The 49 percent fairly happy is similar to the 50 percent in June 2018 and 48% in December 2018, following the 37 percent in December 2017.
The eight percent unhappy is a five-point decline from the 13 percent in December 2018.
The March 2019 survey also found 37 percent very satisfied with the lives they lead.
''The Palace is pleased with the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing that as of March 2019,'' said Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo in a statement.
''We attribute these results to the optimistic and cheery disposition of Filipinos, and to the prevailing conditions of the country where streets are safe from crimes and drugs, cities are booming with massive infrastructure buildup, and the economy is on a positive turnaround,'' added Panelo.
''There is genuine, visible and meaningful change under the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as validated by public sentiment. We commit to continue bringing comfortable and peaceful lives for all Filipinos,'' said Panelo. DMS
