Three teenagers die in Palawan vehicular accident

Three teenagers who are all on a motorcycle died in a vehicular accident in Palawan on Thursday.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Aries Faltado, spokesperson of Mimaropa(Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) regional office, said the incident happened around 12:30 pm at the national highway of Sitio Pinwasan, Barangay Sumbiling in Bataraza, Palawan.
Initial investigation showed the motorcycle was running towards Barangay Rio Tuba while a van was going in the opposite direction. Then the motorcycle overtook another motorcycle running in their direction.
The motorcycle entered the opposite lane where the van was running causing it to hit its right portion.
One of the students identified as Rian Cabanza Miranda, 12, died on the spot while Mervin Miranda Asmad, 14; and Johnoder Miranda Abanes,14, were brought to a hospital but later pronounced dead.
Faltado said Asmad has a student license but he did not say if the teenagers were wearing helmets.
