‘Tisoy’ weakens as it heads towards Batangas-Oriental Mindoro

Typhoon 'Tisoy' slightly weakened as it heads towards Batangas-Northern Mindoro Oriental area, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday.
At 10 am, the eye of 'Tisoy' was located based on all available data at 55 kilometers east of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
It has maximum winds of 150 kph near the center and gusts of up to 205 kph as 'Tisoy' continues to move westward at 25 kph.
'Tisoy' made landfall in Gubat, Sorsogon 11 pm Monday and again over Marinduque at 8:30 am.
Forty-three areas, mostly in Calarbarzon and Mimaropa, were placed by Pagasa under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 3,
Twenty-six areas, including Metro Manila and Pampanga, where venues of the Southeast Asian Games are located, were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 2.
Classes in some areas in Metro Manila were suspended. In Manila, work in government offices were suspended as of 12 noon. DMS
