Two alleged drug personalities arrested in Maguindanao

Government troops apprehended two alleged drug personalities in a joint law enforcement operation in Maguindanao on Thursday afternooon.

Major Arvin Encinas, spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Mindanao Command, said captured were Samrod Mamasainged Damada alias Sam and Nordin Datala.

Encinas said the two drug suspects were apprehended in a joint buy-bust operation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority ( PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Barangay Poblacion 2, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao at around 12 pm.

"Operating team was composed of the combined elements from PDEA-ARMM, PDEU-Maguindanao Provincial Police Office (MagPPO), 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Shariff Aguak Municipal Police Station, 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion, and Shariff Aguak local government unit," he said.

Encinas said government forces seized "one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet enclosed in a heat-sealed yellow plastic tea bag with Chinese characters labelled with daguany with one kilo white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with market value amounting to P6, 800, 000; one genuine and 15 bundles photocopied P1, 000 bill; one black sling bag; one brown wallet with P1,000 bill; one M16A1 Colt AR-15; one high cap magazine loaded with 30 rounds cartridge 5.56mm Ball live ammunition; 68 rounds cartridge 7.62 Ball; assorted IDs; and one unit white Suzuki multicab with no plate number" from the suspects.

Encinas said Damada, Datala, and the recovered items are currently placed under the custody of PDEA-BARMM in Cotabato City for proper disposition. Robina Asido/DMS
