Two blasts hit Maguindanao: military

Two explosions rocked the province of Maguindanao as the election starts on Monday morning.
Major Arvin Encinas, spokesman of the 6th Infantry Division, said the explosion occurred in the vicinity of Poblacion Dalican, Datu Odin Sinsuat around 7:20 am.
Encinas said authorities cordoned the area for possible apprehension of the perpetrators.
Encinas said hours before Election Day, an improvised bomb explosion also occurred at Matalam St, Malagapas, RH10, Cotabato City around 10 pm Sunday.
He said a possible motive behind the incident is to disrupt sorting of voting paraphernalia for Monday's election.
Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesman, said another explosion was also monitored at the vicinity of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao around 10 pm Saturday.
Arevalo said no one was hurt because and nothing was damaged.
