Two explosions rock Lanao del Norte Tuesday, a day before the second Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite.
Col. Alex Aduca of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade said based on initial report the first explosion occurred along the national highway in front of the Petron gasoline station in Brgy. Maranding, Lala, Lanao del Norte around 4:35 pm.
Aduca said the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED).
He said the explosion did not result in any deaths or damage to property.
Aduca said the second explosion was reported at the back of the Kauswagan town hall.
An initial report showed the IED, which exploded around 4:50 pm, was placed inside a bag which was placed in the bottom of a dump truck.
Aduca said there was no reported injury or casualty while he added authorities are trying to assess damage to the dump truck.
Following the explosions, Aduca said government forces tightened the checkpoint and security patrols while troops are monitoring polling precincts. Robina Asido/DMS
